WE CAN TOGETHER FOUNDATION
We believe that WE CAN TOGETHER bring about positive change for the youth of South Africa by engaging in projects across South Africa focused on the interaction and development of the youth in the following portfolios
- Safety and Security
We Can Together Foundation is a Non Profit that engages with key partner NPO’s to ensure sustainability in projects and the successful impact on society in general.
The “We Can Together Foundation” was formed and brought to fruition by Mr Brett Steensma after having engaged for many years at the grassroots level in projects to improve the lives of South Africans and building a better society, and a safer world.
From a solar project for a girl’s orphanage (they had no electricity for 6 months), to sponsorships for young women empowerment across South Africa his engagement has been from vegetable gardens (sustainable living) to the recent demonstration held in Cape Town for the “STOP ABUSE” campaign against the abuse of women and children.
This then brought engagement with the Stellenbosch Representative Council, from Stellenbosch University as tragically Hannah Cornelius was abducted, raped and killed (on the same day of our demonstration) whereupon we directly engaged with Hon Minister Dan Plato and a combined Memorandum was handed over to the Honourable Minister.
We are not a political party, nor do we align with any specific party, but shall engage with all South Africans to make a better country.
As these engagements and projects in his personal capacity grew it became clear that to manage and sustain projects a formal structure was necessary whereupon the “We Can Together Foundation” was formed mid-2017.
During this time a Young Leaders League (YLL) based on students at senior level from local high schools and Universities to develop solutions for socio and economic problems facing South Africa was formed.
Our first engagement was working with Hope Cape Town on Mandela Day 2017 in Blikkiesdorp. We successfully managed to use our network and have a substantial donation of building materials delivered and sponsored by Build It Bothasig, Things on Wheels distributed over one thousand meals for the community and our YLL engaged with the children, playing soccer, cleaning up the litter and assisting in other areas as required.
Our focus is on the development of the youth, protection of rights and the development of entrepreneurs by engaging in projects across our portfolio. Sharing love, joy and laughter is always included.
